Raudna River Meadow, with River Warbler and Corn Crake

from Soomaa - The Sounds of Forests, Bogs and River Floodplains by Andrus Kannel

/

about

There are many different habitats in Soomaa, but on a very large scale, they can be divided into three. Bogs, forests of different types and ages and river floodplains. The recording begins with the song of the Garden warbler, then Corn crake and River warbler dominate. A Thrush nightingale sings nearby and towards the end of the recording a Blackbird starts singing. Sound was recorded on May 20, 2023, in Soomaa or Soomaa National Park. Soomaa in Estonian means bog landscape.

Equipment used: Zoom F3 digital recorder with EM-172 capsules. Recorded 32-bit 48kHz
